Informatica unveils agentic AI updates to boost data trust & security

Thu, 30th Oct 2025

Informatica has announced a series of updates to its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform, aimed at linking enterprise data with new generations of AI agents and advancing both data security and trust in AI-powered decision-making.

The new features are designed to help organisations automate data management, enhance productivity and align data systems with the evolving landscape of agentic AI-AI systems capable of autonomously performing complex tasks.

New CLAIRE Agents

Among the key developments is the launch of the first CLAIRE Agents, which automate data management objectives. The portfolio now includes CLAIRE Data Exploration Agents, enabling users to make complex queries on their Master Data Management (MDM) and other enterprise data using natural language.

Several other CLAIRE Agents are now available. The CLAIRE Enterprise Discovery Agents deliver contextual and tailored results from the organisation's varied data sources for AI and analytics, while CLAIRE ELT Agents allow business users to build and deploy data pipelines in collaboration with data engineers. CLAIRE Product Help Agents offer context-aware responses to questions regarding data within the IDMC, while CLAIRE Data Quality Agents, currently in public preview, allow users to create and apply data quality rules based on natural language business specifications within minutes. Additionally, CLAIRE Product Experience Agents, available in private preview, support the classification and enrichment of product records within MDM using both structured and unstructured data.

The upgraded CLAIRE GPT now incorporates planning, advanced reasoning and improved understanding of natural language, supporting the planning, automation and optimisation of data workflows. CLAIRE GPT's compound reasoning uses the Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock Claude models, all within Informatica's secure cloud environment to enable agentic data management for enterprises.

Further, CLAIRE Copilot for MDM simplifies the usage and understanding of master data, allowing natural language exploration and easy access to help features directly from Informatica MDM.

AI Agent Engineering

Another key element of the update is the introduction of AI Agent Engineering within Informatica's Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS). Still in private preview, this set of tools enables organisations to develop, connect and govern custom AI agents using a no-code interface, said to reduce agent development time from weeks to minutes. It includes test consoles, monitoring capabilities, and features for the software development lifecycle, allowing customers to manage AI agents at scale.

The AI Agent Hub, also in private preview, is a repository of pre-built AI agents and automation templates, supporting integrations with platforms such as Jira, Salesforce, Dynamics, Snowflake and Microsoft Teams. It is aimed at supporting domains like lead management, approval workflows and MDM data discovery, further reducing setup and integration effort for enterprises.

The company has also introduced Informatica MCP Servers, providing secure options for connecting AI agents to enterprise-grade tools including cloud address verification, Cloud Data Governance Catalog (CDGC) search and Master Data Management.

Governance and privacy

A focus on data governance and privacy is reflected in the new capabilities of CDGC. In private preview, Unstructured Data Governance allows users to scan, classify and catalogue unstructured data, leveraging hierarchical taxonomies that help enterprises curate content for generative AI use cases. Other new CDGC features include the capacity to model multi-agent AI systems and scan asset inventory from Google Vertex AI, providing support for the governance of AI systems and their associated applications at the enterprise level.

Updated Data Access Management features now provide enhanced plugins for policy enforcement on platforms such as Databricks, AWS Redshift and Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse, facilitating consistent and secure access management.

Master Data Management and integrations

The company has also announced a private preview of Agentic Product Information Management (PIM) for Product 360, which aims to ease product data stewardship through conversational interfaces. The MDM Extension for Agentforce now links Salesforce-native AI agents with unified and governed master data, providing access to trusted, context-rich data and insights within customer engagement processes.

Industry perspectives

"Our research finds strong demand for agentic data management. Informatica addresses this demand, for example, by supporting the two most popular use cases of data quality and data integration. Informatica also simplifies agentic AI innovation by enabling enterprises to build and refine agents while synchronizing the data, model and application lifecycles," said Kevin Petrie, Vice President of Research, BARC.
"The world is entering the era of agentic AI where autonomous agents collaborate with humans to solve complex business challenges. With our launch, Informatica empowers every organisation to connect trusted, AI-ready data to these intelligent agents helping them innovate faster, operate smarter and build AI systems their businesses can trust," said Krish Vitaldevara, CPO, Informatica.
