Snowflake Head of Canada Eng calls Intelligence AI "game changer"

Wed, 5th Nov 2025

Snowflake has announced the general availability of its Snowflake Intelligence solution, extending agentic artificial intelligence capabilities to its global customer base.

According to the company, Snowflake Intelligence enables users across more than 12,000 organisations to engage directly with their data using natural language, providing business insights that previously required significant technical know-how. The rollout includes enhancements such as Cortex Agents, Cortex Knowledge Extensions, and a managed Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server.

Qaiser Habib, Head of Canada Engineering at Snowflake, says Snowflake Intelligence is a game changer for Canadian enterprises.

"By enabling every employee to access and interact with their company's information in one secure place, they can unlock insights faster and drive greater productivity across their operations," he said in a statement to TechDay Canada.

Snowflake Intelligence can facilitate deep research while suggesting solutions to business problems that are time-consuming to execute manually. This includes data visualisation and integration responses when asking in natural language. In a demo presentation, Jeff Hollan, Director of Product at Snowflake, asked an agent to report the status of critical inbound shipments arriving at a demo company's shipping hub. Snowfall Intelligence is designed to understand a specific company's definition of "critical," he noted.

"The availability of Snowflake Intelligence to our Canadian enterprise community is especially relevant as firms are striving to make AI and intelligent tools part of their everyday workflow," said Habib. "With Snowflake Intelligence now generally available to Snowflake's global customer base, Canadian enterprises have a robust, secure solution that democratizes the power of AI and bridges the gap between data and actionable intelligence."

Snowflake Intelligence has been adopted by over 1,000 customers in recent months, resulting in the deployment of more than 15,000 AI agents. These solutions are being deployed across a diverse range of fields, including technology, automotive, sports, and finance. The company states that Snowflake Intelligence helps users access and understand their organisational data from disparate sources, enabling enterprise-wide decision-making while maintaining governance and security standards.

Snowflake's AI Research Team has introduced a method called the Agent GPA (Goal, Plan, Action) framework, designed to improve the accuracy of the AI agents. The company reports that this method can prevent up to 95 per cent of errors on standard datasets. Additional technical advancements have increased Snowflake Intelligence's performance by up to three times for text-to-SQL queries, enabling more timely responses for users.

Snowflake has also announced that its new AI features, including Cortex Agents, Cortex Knowledge Extensions, and Sharing of Semantic Views, are generally available. These enable customers to build customised, multi-agent AI solutions utilising structured and unstructured data from both internal and third-party sources such as FactSet, IPinfo, and MSCI. The managed MCP Server provides integration to external AI agents and aims to simplify enterprise application architecture while maintaining data security and compliance.
