Fieldguide has partnered with Crowe BGK and CPA Canada to expand its use in Canadian audit work. The deals make Crowe BGK the first Canadian firm to adopt the platform and integrate CPA Canada's Professional Engagement Guide forms.

Crowe BGK, an accounting and advisory firm with offices in Montreal and Ottawa, will use the system for financial audits, reviews, and compilation engagements. The move is part of a broader effort to change how the firm delivers assurance work.

Under its separate agreement with CPA Canada, the body's Professional Engagement Guide, known as PEG, will be embedded across Fieldguide's platform. Firms using the software will be able to work with PEG forms within the same workflow instead of switching between separate applications.

The arrangement targets Canadian audit and advisory firms moving from manual processes to AI-assisted engagement work. The embedded PEG content will support dynamic risk assessments, engagement programmes, automated checks for missing evidence or inconsistencies, and direct updates when CPA Canada revises its forms.

Crowe BGK had been looking for tools that fit its existing workflows while changing how teams handle assurance engagements. The firm has more than 275 professionals and 41 partners, and is an independent member of the Crowe Global network.

Brian Kreisman, Managing Partner at Crowe BGK, said the partnership would give teams access to a platform that matches the firm's ambitions and supplements, rather than replaces, the work they already do well.

"We have spent the last several years building a culture that moves quickly on new technology, and Fieldguide is the natural next step in that journey," Kreisman added.

Aaron J Noga, Partner and Assurance Leader at Crowe BGK, linked the move to broader changes in the assurance market.

"The assurance profession is changing, and so is the business model that has supported it for decades. The window to wait and see is closing, so we've made our bet on the future. By becoming the first accounting firm in Canada to adopt Fieldguide, we're combining the expertise and professional judgment of our people with technology and AI to rethink how assurance is delivered. That means more meaningful work for our people, more time understanding our clients' businesses and risks, and greater insight, quality, and value for our clients. We don't want to simply adapt to the future of assurance; we want to help shape it," Noga said.

Angela Giannoumis, CPA Auditor, MSc, Director of Digital Transformation and Assurance Innovation at Crowe BGK, said the aim was to shift staff time away from routine tasks and toward judgment and client work.

"Digital transformation should do more than accelerate existing processes - it should fundamentally transform how our professionals work," Giannoumis said.

She added: "Fieldguide will give them more time to do what they do best: exercise judgment, think critically, solve complex problems, and engage meaningfully with clients. That is the true promise of AI in assurance. It does not replace professional expertise; it creates more space for that expertise to make an impact."

PEG integration

The CPA Canada agreement gives the accounting body's engagement forms a direct place within Fieldguide's software. In practice, that means audit, review, and compilation documentation can sit in the same process as evidence gathering, risk assessment, and review.

Pamela Steer, President and Chief Executive Officer of CPA Canada, said the agreement reflects the organisation's focus on audit quality.

"Advancing audit quality across the profession is a core pillar of CPA Canada's mandate," Steer said.

She added: "By integrating our trusted audit, review and compilation engagement forms into Fieldguide's AI-powered workflows, firms can more easily access credible support to enhance audit quality, efficiency and productivity."

Fieldguide framed the two deals as part of a broader shift in how firms organise audit work, with practitioners retaining responsibility for judgment and review while software handles more process steps. Every agent action in the system remains reviewable.

Jin Chang, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fieldguide, said Crowe BGK stood out because it had already prepared itself for that shift.

"Crowe BGK stood out as a potential partner - and our first in Canada - because they have already done the hard part: centering their clients' needs while becoming ready for a future supported by agentic AI. Their position as a pioneer in AI adoption made this an easy firm for us to get excited about," Chang said.

"Now, Fieldguide gives their auditors a platform that takes on the heavy lifting of data ingestion, so their people can focus on judgment and relationships, and their clients get the benefit of that capacity," he added

In a separate comment on the CPA Canada deal, Chang said firms were changing their operating models rather than simply adding new software.

"Firms are not asking for another tool; they are building a new operating model," Chang said. "With CPA Canada's trusted forms at the center of the platform, practitioners keep their judgment while Field Agents support the execution. That is how audit quality and capacity climb together."
