Esri Canada earns three ISO certifications for cloud security
Esri Canada has announced that it has obtained three International Standards Organisation (ISO) certifications, demonstrating its commitment to data security and privacy in its cloud solutions.
The newly acquired certifications pertain to ISO 27001:2013, which focuses on the continuous improvement of information security management systems, ISO 27017:2015, which addresses security of cloud services, and ISO 27018:2019, which relates to data privacy. These certifications are globally recognised and enhance Esri Canada's credibility as a GIS solutions provider.
The certification under ISO 27001:2013 indicates that Esri Canada complies with stringent requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system. This involves safeguarding financial information, intellectual property, employee details, and third-party information.
With the attainment of the ISO 27017:2015 certification, the company confirms that it has implemented strict guidelines and controls to ensure the security of the cloud solutions it provides and uses. This adds another layer of reassurance to clients using Esri Canada's cloud services.
The ISO 27018:2019 certification ensures that Esri Canada has robust information security controls to protect personal data and enhance data privacy within its cloud offerings.
Alpesh Patel, Chief Information Security Officer at Esri Canada, said, "We strive to continuously improve our information security systems and practices and ensure compliance with globally accepted standards. Achieving these ISO certifications strengthens our customers' trust in our GIS solutions, allowing them to focus on using our mapping and spatial analysis tools to solve society's most pressing problems."
