Grass Valley adds Wasabi cloud storage to AMPP for flexible media workflows
Grass Valley will integrate Wasabi Technologies cloud storage into its AMPP platform to offer customers additional storage options for media production workflows.
The collaboration enables Grass Valley customers to directly purchase and use Wasabi's low-cost, high-performance cloud storage within the Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP), supporting active archiving, live playout, and editing workflows.
Media and entertainment organisations continue to seek approaches to optimise content creation and distribution while managing expenses. The AMPP platform aims to address these requirements by providing software-defined workflows and allowing users to choose from different solutions within a single system. This integration is expected to provide users with increased control and flexibility in managing media assets.
With Wasabi's pricing model, which does not impose egress charges, AMPP users can transfer assets to and from Wasabi storage without additional fees. This is positioned as helping to mitigate concerns regarding unpredictable costs during the movement of content.
