Dig Insights acquires OneCliq to boost AI-powered analysis

Wed, 23rd Jul 2025

Tech analytics company Dig Insights has acquired OneCliq, a Toronto-based AI platform specialising in turning online conversations into emotionally intelligent insights.

The transaction, backed by private equity firm Beringer Capital, aims to strengthen Dig's AI capabilities and expand its portfolio of technology offerings. No financial terms of the deal have been disclosed.

OneCliq is designed to analyse social media content and online discussions, offering brands a window into consumer sentiment, emotion, and evolving cultural themes. The platform offers real-time analysis of data from sources including TikTok, Reddit, and Instagram. This technology enables clients to identify trending topics and understand the reasons behind shifting public attitudes. OneCliq's website showcases features such as video facial analysis and written sentiment interpretation as part of its offerings.

Paul Gaudette, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Dig Insights, said, "As consumer behaviour shifts and new channels become major sources of influence, insights need to evolve to reflect how people actually live, think, and communicate." Adding, "OneCliq helps us do exactly that by tapping into the platforms where younger audiences are shaping culture and decisions in real time. It brings us closer to what's happening now, and gives our clients an edge in building smarter, more future-ready strategies."

Since launching in 2010, Dig Insights has focused on the early adoption of AI tools in its development. Tools like idea generation and predictive performance analysis are integrated into its in-house SaaS platform, Upsiide. The company's newer offering, Storyteller, leverages its analytics to turn statistics into shareable stories. Dig states that researchers and storytelling experts train this learning model.

OneCliq was founded by siblings Tanika McLeod and Nathan Knight, who will now join Dig Insights along with their team of AI specialists.

"We are overjoyed to be joining the Dig family," said OneCliq co-founders Tanika McLeod & Nathan Knight, in a statement. "By combining the power of what our two teams have built – leveraging emotion as data and culture as strategy – we know we can unlock new value for clients by helping them navigate modern decision-making in a world that is increasingly influenced by online narratives."

Beringer Capital stated that the acquisition will help Dig understand cultural context while enhancing its AI capabilities.

"With both platforms under one roof, Dig can offer an advanced, end-to-end, tech-enabled solution that empowers brand decision-making at speed, while remaining agile across methodologies and tools," said Chantel Lewis, Vice President at Beringer Capital.

This marks Dig Insights' third add-on acquisition since Beringer Capital's investment in 2022. The company previously acquired Ignite 360 and Ebco Trends. Beringer Capital described strategic mergers and acquisitions as central to Dig's ongoing growth strategy, noting that each addition to the business reinforces Dig's global presence and enhances its client offerings.
