Flexera has been named the only vendor recognised as a Customers' Choice in Gartner Peer Insights' Voice of the Customer for Software Asset Management Tools report, based on verified end-user reviews.

According to Gartner Peer Insights data cited by Flexera, 86 verified end users reviewed the company's software asset management product, and 91% said they would recommend it as of April 2026.

The recognition places Flexera alone in this year's Customers' Choice category for software asset management tools, a segment businesses use to track software usage, licensing and compliance across increasingly mixed IT estates.

Gartner Peer Insights compiles user reviews and ratings to give technology buyers a view of customer experience across a market. Vendors recognised in the Customers' Choice quadrant met or exceeded the market average for overall experience, as well as user interest and adoption.

The designation is notable as organisations face growing pressure to control technology costs while reducing risk tied to on-premises software, cloud services and software subscriptions. The field has also drawn more attention as companies try to understand how artificial intelligence tools add to spending and governance demands.

Flexera also linked the recognition to broader analyst attention, noting that it was named a Leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for SaaS Management Platforms for the second consecutive year.

Customer reviews

The Gartner Peer Insights assessment is based on feedback from end-user professionals rather than analyst scoring alone. That gives the result added weight for suppliers in crowded infrastructure and IT management markets, where references from existing customers can influence shortlist decisions.

For Flexera, the Customers' Choice label adds a public marker of user satisfaction at a time when software asset management and SaaS management are converging. Many companies want a more complete view of what technology they own, what they use and what it costs.

Flexera positions its Flexera One offering around those issues, spanning cloud, software as a service and on-premises systems. It says organisations need better data to monitor spend and risk across environments that have grown more fragmented.

Industry buyers face rising complexity as software procurement shifts from perpetual licences to subscription models and as departments adopt tools outside central IT. This can leave businesses with overlapping products, underused licences and weak visibility into contractual commitments.

In that context, customer review platforms have become another source of evidence for procurement teams alongside analyst reports, demonstrations and reference calls. A high recommendation rate can help suppliers show that their tools work in operational settings, not just in product evaluations.

Market pressure

Software asset management has shifted from a back-office compliance function to a broader cost and risk discipline. Finance teams, procurement leaders and chief information officers are paying closer attention as software bills rise and audit exposure remains a concern.

At the same time, businesses are trying to reconcile traditional licence management with newer categories such as SaaS applications and AI-related tools. That is creating demand for systems that can bring together inventory, usage and spending information from multiple sources.

Flexera said the customer recognition reflected trust in its platform as organisations manage more complex technology estates. Mike Jerich, President and Chief Executive Officer, pointed to those wider pressures in the company's response to the designation.

"Our customers are the ultimate measure of our success," said Mike Jerich, President and Chief Executive Officer, Flexera.

"We believe this customer choice recognition reflects the trust organizations place in Flexera One to help them navigate increasingly complex technology environments. As organizations manage growing spend, risk and complexity across cloud, SaaS, on-premises and AI, Flexera is focused on helping them make smarter decisions with trusted data and automation," said Jerich.

Flexera operates in a market that includes vendors focused on software licence tracking, SaaS discovery, cloud cost oversight and IT asset management. The overlap between those categories has increased as customers look for fewer standalone tools and more unified reporting.

The latest recognition gives the company a visible endorsement from its own users in that competitive market. Gartner Peer Insights data cited by Flexera said 91% of verified end users reviewing its software asset management product were willing to recommend it.
