RAero has entered into a joint venture with PearlQ Software and Network Solutions, linking the US aviation training technology company with the Doha-based technology business led by H.E. Sheikh Abdulla Khalifa Al Thani.

The venture will focus on digital aviation training in Qatar, the Middle East, North America and other markets. It combines RAero's aviation training expertise with PearlQ's regional business and technology support.

Demand for aviation training has risen as airlines expand fleets, add aircraft types and introduce new systems across their operations. The venture will focus on training products for pilots, cabin crew, maintenance staff and ground operations teams.

Planned areas of work include interactive computer-based training, aircraft systems training, AI-enabled learning support, WebXR environments, flight management system training applications, scenario-based training and learning management systems. The partners also plan to develop customised training aligned with airline procedures, operational requirements and branding, alongside civil, military and eVTOL training.

Leadership

RAero is led by Chief Executive Officer Brent Birdwell, who founded pilot training company CPaT Global in the 1990s and left the business in 2019. Its President, Amit Bahuguna, is a Canada-based airline pilot.

Birdwell's background includes service in the US Air Force and work in commercial aviation. RAero added that its wider international development team has supported the company's expansion and partnership activity.

PearlQ is based in Doha and led by H.E. Sheikh Abdulla Khalifa Al Thani. Under the joint venture, the Qatari company is expected to provide regional market knowledge, strategic relationships, client engagement, programme management and local technical support.

RAero will contribute aviation training courseware, immersive training platforms and digital learning systems. The agreement also sets out a structure for longer-term commercial and technology cooperation between the two sides.

Regional focus

The partners will explore joint technology development and regional training work in Qatar, India and other international markets. The venture is therefore intended to extend beyond a single domestic market into a broader cross-border training business.

The deal also reflects a wider Gulf push to build skills and technology businesses tied to aviation and transport. Qatar has invested heavily in aviation infrastructure and has sought to expand knowledge-based industries as part of its broader economic strategy.

Training has become a growing focus across the sector as airlines face pressure to prepare staff more quickly while maintaining safety and procedural standards. Digital formats, including remote courseware and simulated environments, are increasingly being used to supplement or replace parts of traditional classroom instruction.

For RAero, the venture provides a formal route into the Qatari market and a partner with local business reach. For PearlQ, it offers access to aviation training products as regional carriers and aviation businesses continue to add equipment, staff and operational complexity.

The companies said the partnership aligns with the aims of Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasises human capital development, innovation and a knowledge-based economy. They added that they intend to support aviation training initiatives in Qatar, India and other markets through the new venture.

The agreement establishes a framework for sustained technological and commercial cooperation between the two organisations.
