Ricoh achieves first EcoVadis Platinum sustainability rating

Yesterday

Ricoh has been awarded the Platinum rating for sustainability performance by EcoVadis, marking the first time the company has received the highest recognition from the global sustainability ratings provider.

The Platinum rating places Ricoh among the top one per cent of over 150,000 companies evaluated worldwide. The rating is based on EcoVadis' assessment of 21 sustainability criteria across four key themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

Ricoh had previously maintained a Gold rating for ten consecutive years, from 2014 through 2024. This year's assessment saw Ricoh achieve an overall score of 82 out of 100, a five-point increase from the previous year. The company was especially recognised for its performance in the Environment category, with noted improvements in both the Labour & Human Rights and Ethics categories.

Mikako Suzuki, Corporate Officer in charge of ESG and Risk Management at Ricoh Company, Ltd., said: "We are immensely proud of this milestone which underscores our long-standing commitment to sustainability. The 2025 Platinum rating is a testament to Ricoh's active promotion of ESG risk management in our supply chain, including improvements in labour conditions and human rights. It also reflects our ongoing efforts to deepen our environmental policies and targets, expand information disclosure, and advance environmental management.

"Through our business, Ricoh will continue contributing to the realisation of a sustainable society by working to solve social issues throughout the value chain," Suzuki added.

EcoVadis is widely regarded as a trusted source for corporate sustainability ratings. Many multinational organisations use the platform's insights in evaluating supply chain partners and suppliers, with the assessment framework designed to benchmark sustainability practices and drive continuous improvement.

Founded more than 85 years ago and headquartered in Tokyo, Ricoh operates in around 200 countries and regions. The company provides integrated digital services alongside print and imaging solutions, aimed at supporting digital transformation and optimising business performance. For the financial year ending March 2024, Ricoh Group reported global sales of 2,348 billion yen.

Ricoh has committed to advancing environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives through its approach to seven material issues and long-term sustainability targets. The company has also focused on improving transparency through expanded disclosures and the strengthening of internal systems to support ethical and sustainable operations.

The Platinum rating from EcoVadis represents a significant endorsement of Ricoh's ESG strategy and its broader mission to contribute to a sustainable future.
