BDO Canada has partnered with ServiceNow, combining BDO Canada's advisory services with the ServiceNow AI platform.

The partnership is intended to help organisations modernise operations, govern AI-enabled work and improve returns on technology spending.

Under the arrangement, BDO Canada will deliver services through its advisory practice, covering strategy, roadmaps, workflow design, implementation, integration, change management, managed services and ongoing improvement.

It will also support clients in service operations, process automation, digital risk and response, AI governance and platform management. The offering is aimed at businesses dealing with disconnected systems, manual processes and weak governance as AI adoption outpaces internal controls and operating models.

The move comes as many Canadian companies continue to test artificial intelligence without clear financial gains. BDO Canada cited its own research showing that 46% of Canadian business leaders are experimenting with AI without achieving meaningful return on investment.

Focus on governance

The partnership puts AI governance alongside technology implementation at a time when businesses face growing pressure to show value from digital projects while managing operational and regulatory risk.

BDO Canada said its role will include aligning people, processes, data and controls around defined business outcomes, while ServiceNow provides the software layer for workflow and AI deployment across an organisation.

The arrangement reflects a broader market shift, as consulting and technology groups seek to move beyond software roll-outs and tie automation and AI projects more closely to day-to-day operations, risk management and measurable returns.

"Organisations want more than technology implementation. They need practical ways to simplify operations, improve control, adopt AI responsibly, and generate measurable value," said Austin D'souza, Partner, Technology Operations, BDO Canada.

"By combining ServiceNow's AI platform with BDO's industry, advisory and governance experience, we can help clients move from strategy to execution and turn platform investments into business outcomes," said D'souza.

Canadian market

The partnership is focused on the Canadian market, where businesses have increased spending on digital tools and AI but often face gaps in process design, oversight and system integration.

ServiceNow, which sells software used to manage workflows across IT, customer service, security and other business functions, has been expanding its AI-related offering as corporate customers look for ways to automate more work without adding fragmented tools.

For BDO Canada, the deal reflects a wider trend among professional services firms to build alliances with major software vendors to provide implementation, governance and managed support around large enterprise platforms.

Clients will be able to access BDO services across service management, operations, automation, integration, AI, security, risk and platform management.

Mitch Bouchard, Group Vice President, Canada, ServiceNow, described the tie-up as an effort to give customers a more direct route from platform adoption to operational use.

"We're thrilled to deepen our partnership with BDO Canada. This collaboration brings together the ServiceNow AI Platform with BDO's deep consulting expertise - and most importantly, it means our Canadian customers get a faster path to real business outcomes. Whether it's accelerating digital transformation, reducing operational complexity, or unlocking new revenue streams, BDO's team will help organizations realize the full value of their ServiceNow investment from day one. That's the kind of partnership that drives measurable impact," said Bouchard.
